Azzurri doubles in size in just six months

March 2009

Jonathan Synett today announced that 5-a-side football business Azzurri Sports has doubled in size in the last six months as they increased their number of venues from 9 to 15.

“Revenues from football leagues have risen 100% since September 2008 and that growth curve shows no signs of slowing down,” enthused Synett. “There still seems to be huge scope for organic growth within the industry as more and more people are taking up 5-a-side on a regular basis”

In addition, Azzurri are said to be looking at the possibility of consolidating some of the smaller operators in what is an extremely fragmented industry.

Away from 5-a-side leagues, Azzurri also announced that they are in latter stage negotiations on operations contracts with facility providers. “This will be the main focus of our expansion in 2009”, said Synett.

Azzurri Sports and Leisure run 5-a-side leagues and events across the South-East of England. Azzurri’s major shareholder and Chairman is well known media entrepreneur, Chris Ingram, founder and Senior Partner of Ingram Enterprise.
